Have you ever wondered what your customers are thinking? Wouldn't it be nice to know what makes your customers buy from you. Even better, wouldn't you like to know how to sell more to your existing customers? Well I will give you FIVE ideas on how you can improve your relationships with your customers as well as ideas to keep them coming back to your e-commerce or affiliate site.
First, is to offer them something they want, obviously this is a no-brainer, but many people get caught up in trying to promote one product or another to everyone, without taking into consideration who their audience is. They fail to focus on what the customers interests are and to communicate how their product or service will help them. In creating a niche you need to narrow in on a specific service or related products. Let give you an excellent example of a product page that has a high conversion, as well as appeal called IMeye, which is a powerful tool for affiliate marketers as well as people interested in e-commerce sites. You would then want to write an article or blog about the product. That way people that are searching for a tool that will save them time in exploiting a profitable niche, they will come across your link(s).
The mistake many people make is once they have written their article or blog post, is not to submit it to the article directories, social medias, search engines, or blog directories. After you find a product your passionate about promoting, follow though with the submission process, even throw in a few dollars toward Google Adsense, if you feel it is a viable solution. The point I am getting at, is you need to not only find a product, but you need to advertise and promote the product. In writing your article or ad, keep in mind you are trying to get the readers attention, so be creative, but not dishonest in displaying your ad.
Second, If you haven't purchased the product and used it for yourself, try to find out as much as possible about it, ask people who have purchased what they felt about the product and make a testimonial page, so your visitors can hear from real people what they felt about the product. If it is an affiliate product, see if you can borrow their testimonials to add credibility to your site. The point is, you want your visitors to know that you endorse the product and highly recommend it to them. If possible ask them to leave you a feedback after they have used the product for themselves. Most marketeers overlook how powerful it is to get feedback, not to mention a way for you to communicate with them and ask questions about what features they liked, as well as if there is room for improvement.
Third, is look for social groups or organizations that are related to your product or service. Google groups has thousands of groups that talk about all kinds of things. Join a group, don't spam them with your idea, but try to leave honest and sincere advice, and once in awhile ask them to give you their opinion about your product or service. Be tactful and polite, if you feel it will get you banned from the group, then search for another or create your own group. The point is, there are thousands of groups or forums out there, that are not as stringent, and may benefit from your post.
Fourth, is look at local classified ads or Pennysavers, this is an untapped market that may be able to boost your sales, at a low cost. Just remember that all marketing needs to be consistent and practiced diligently. Don't try try an ad for a week or two, and give up. Try it for 6 months, or longer, just so people get used to your ad, and consider it reliable. If they still see that it is being promoted, they will feel comfortable purchasing from you.
Finally, offer a FREEBIE, by that I mean give them a e-book, free sample, pdf, audio download, newsletter or video discussing you product or service. This help make you look like an authority on the topic, as well as offering something useful your potential customers may need in order to help them make a decision before buying. You can also use this idea to capture their email address, to further market new products and share ideas with them.
