Staying on the Right Path

We at Blog Marketing Today get asked from people from time to time, what it takes to be successful online...or just successful in business period. Our response is "it takes 3 things to be successful in anything you do, whether it is business a relationship or sports etc."

First, is to have clearly defined goals. It could be buying a new house, or to make $10,000/month or to be more attentive to your significant other, or whatever you truly desire. The goal must be attainable, not a wish or fantasy that you could make a million dollars by next week. The goal must also have a time limit in which you want to achieve it. So say, if you want to have 10,000 followers to your blog by such and such date, then break it down to how many you will need each week to get there. Then break that down by how many a day you will need. The greatest thing about setting goals, is that it shows you how much effort and energy you need to put into it. So with goal setting, keep track of your goals by writing them down and reviewing them often.

Second, is committment to your goals or dreams. If you aren't going to committ to doing them, nobody is going to force you and say "Hey, let me drag you out of bed and get to working on your goals." If it is something that isn't in our heart, no amount of prodding is going to force you to work on them. You must hold yourself accountable for our own actions and be truly committed to building your dreams or goals.

Finally, you must be adaptable to change. In many business start-ups, they focus on their personal needs, and not pay attention to their customer and/or their employee needs. A successful business is about finding or creating a need and filling it. Not about the perks you can give yourself, it is about truly caring about your customers and giving them what they want, or excelling and give them more then they expect. So crawl out of your comfort zone, and ask questions to your customers, employees, suppliers and friends, and be teachable to implement changes and new ideas.
